I am called of God. My authority is above that of kings of the earth. By revelation I have been selected as a personal representative of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is my master and He has chosen me to represent Him--to stand in His place, to say and do what He Himself would say and do if He personally were ministering to the very people to whom He has sent me. My voice is His voice, and my acts are His acts; my doctrine is His doctrine. My Commission is to do what He wants done; To say what He wants said; to be a living modern witness in word and in deed of the divinity of his great and marvelous Latter-day work. How great is my calling! • My Missionary Commission • Elder Bruce R. McConkie •

In the words of Nacho Libre- "Get that corn outta my face!"

LETTER: Elder Colton Nunley • January 31st, 2011

ok so i wrote down some things that i thought you might like to hear about this week. oh by the way we had another baptism!!! it was so good!! Juan is like answering and even teaching stuff in the class after sacrament haha i dont remember what its called but yeah so cool.!! lets see so those ohter pairs of shoes that we got for me at missionary mall are too small and i was wondering if you could check and see what their policy is on sending me another pair the right size. they are the McDonalds shoes haha. oh yeah ok so the Lord definately does not want me and Elder Burgener to have bikes haha we had bikes for 3 days and had to fix them 4 times and the last day we thougth we{d try em out we were riding and heard this noise like a gunshot haha and then elder B stops riding and his tire totally blew up but it was so loud!! and so i just busted up laughing haha cuz it was way funny with all the problems we{ve had with the bikes haha and when i started laughing a bunch of people on the street started laughing and they thought it was hilarious too and even one guy started clapping for us haha oh the bikes haha never again!!!

oh my gosh the food here is so dand good!!! every day the hermanas make such good food!! hmmhh and im actually losing weight too ahah i went down a belt loop and i stuff my face every day ! its all that walkin for sure!! ok but the american food i eat i gotta tell you is so good. ok so everynight and mornign i eat goober. its the peanut butter and jelly together haha and it is so so sos os os so dang good! it is the best with oreos though oh my gosh haha. oh so yesterday at lunch i ate chatarron which is pigskin... and it is absolutely disgusting haha oh my gosh i cant even tell you the thinks i was thinking when i was chewing it haha ewww guacala!!! haha so much happens here everyday and everyday goes by so dang fast!!! it stinks!!! before i know it 2 years is gonna be gone! haha.

oh amoray if you want some different songs to play on the piano you can start learning how to play Come thou Fount and If I Could Hie to Kolob so when i come back you can rock those puppies out for me! i love those songs on the piano. Stick with piano too i totally wish i would have. oh mom when i come back home i want to to refer to me as Mi Hijo!! haha all the moms here do that or Hijo Mío haha oh yeah our family totally has some mexican in us somewhere haha every family im with reminds me of someone from our family haha its so awesome they are all so funny and just laid back. oh demory i thought you might like to know where you name comes from. Well amoray comes from the word amor which means love. and it just so happens that your name comes from spanish too. its just mom and dad havent told you yet but i figure since im a missionary and i need to be honest i should tell you. your name comes from the spanish verb Demorar which translates to English as To Delay hahaha i was reading the scriptures and that word came up and i thought you might like to know that haha

oh my gosh i had my first elote today! its the corn on the stick like in nacho libre and it is so dang good!!! haha except i didnt have mayo on it i just had her put tons of chile..hmmmh the food though seriously is so dang good everyday. everything has tortillas and chile with it. chile is hot sauce and oh my gosh it is so dang good!!! i seriously cant get over how good the food is haha.

but for real other than food. i am learning so much stuff and having great experiences. there is so much stuff we can learn everyday. and i have the oportunity to learn every day!! but for real my favorite right now is reading through the ensign the one with the conference talks. cuz that is what the Lord wants us to learn and apply in our lives right now! i love studying that!! welp i gotta go.

i love you and at the same time am angry i didnt get an email from you this week haha jk not angry just upset haha

NOTE FROM DIGI: "FOR THE RECORD...I sent him the letters from our family by email this morning at 9:20. I don't know why he hadn't received our letter by the time he wrote us :( The pictures are SO Colton! Thanks for your prayers."

LETTER: Elder Jared Jensen • January 31st, 2011

Alright so my new area here is pretty good. The members are great (They always are) Our apartment isn't too nice and it smells a little funny. Tell you the truth it smells kinda funny and I'm not sure where the smell is coming from. Its been lots of fun though. We have a part time car that we share so that's pretty nice as well. I wish I had more stuff that has happened but right now I'm having a hard time learning the new area.

Well remember how I would always joke with my friends about being called to the "North Idaho mission"? Well ya, God thought it would be pretty funny too. . . =) So I'm right by the University of Idaho. We do the family wards but we tract into a ton of college kids.

Alright and for the small miracle of the week is going to sound kind of funny but it really did happen. Ok... So the GPS that Josh sent me has helped me out so so much in my new area. My new comp has no idea where he is going so it has saved as plenty of times. Anyways for some reason it started to not work for some reason.(The screen wouldn't turn at all) I really tried to do everything. I tried to turn it on and off. I plugged it in to the power cord all over the apartment and car. I left in for an hour and blew on the power cord and nothing would work. I had no idea why. But that morning as I was doing my study I came to a scripture in Mormon. Saying have faith in Jesus Christ and pray unto me and I will give you what so ever you asketh. So I decided if that were possible that god would do that for anything even this very small thing like a GPS. So that's what I did. I said a prayer having faith that he would do it.... And guess what.... Bloop!!! It came right on! I was actually laughing out loud! I know that it sounds so cheesy but that's really what happen. And if it didn't we wouldn't have made it to any of our appointments that day.

But if god would do such a small thing like that just think about what bigger things he will do for us if we just pray to him with faith believing that we will receive. That was really one of my first prayers believing that I would receive.

But that's my small miracle for you. I will probably have more stories to tell you next week. My step training is going alright too so don't worry. =)

I love you my best mom ever =)

hi padre!

haha thanks for talking about me... i guess...haha at least i don´t have to turn red in front of everyone. ya, i love brayden adn to hear from him! he cracks me up! he is so funny. i don´t dare pull any pranks on my companion yet. especially cuz she is senior companion and all and if she doesn´t talk for me, i am in trouble. haha. she has been sick too so it is nnot a good time to pull pranks. ya, there is alot of work to do...and i can´t wait to speak. people always stare at me, i hope it isbecause the light and not that i look completely ridiculous. haha it is funny, when i bear my testimony during the lessons, i cant totally tell the attention is rivited on me...and it goes really quite. i dont´know if it is because they feel the spirit , or have no idea what i just said. but i decided to choose the first thought...the spirit. hahaha it is great!

i am glad to hear jessie is smiling a lot...tell andrew if he is a missionary...he told me he is going on a mission on the phone...and that they have to work hard...so he should work hard...hahaha and they don´t have video games here for the missionaries, we aren´t even allowed to watch tv. being here, i wish i didn´t worry so much about menial things at home. man, there is so much to be happy for about where we live and the numerous opportunities we have in america! even just our knowledge of the gospel! it is great! so, how are you doing papa bear? i finally found the question mark on this keyboard??????????? yay!

thanks for your sacrifice and taking care of me always! te amo! (i love you!)

con amor,
hermana schneider

LETTER: Elder Brayden Schneider • January 31st, 2011

hey i got the package you sent dad/family, it was so delightful!!!! the mourning i got the package i was like dang now my calendar isnt any good, then you guys sent a new one! its awesome! hahaha the package was in half when i got it, it was even wet too? hahaha not really sure how but i think the package was sitting in a pond for a really long time! haha cause it was pretty wasted. But..... the calender is still ok, and the candy i gave lots of it away cause we were at church. But thanks a ton for the package!

mom that is funny about the talk you gave! hahahaha good work!

ANDREW SCHNEIDER.... thanks for writing me, that is super cool you have super smash brothers brawl, remember when i bet you everytime we played!!!! hahahahaha you the best little guy!

ok so.... this week was crazy. haha i will start from the beginning, monday we had a lesson with a new investigator, he came to english class and after class he said that he liked the way he felt so he invited us over for lunch. Well the first time we saw him at english class, i am not going to lie i could kinda sence some gay vibes coming from him. hahaha but we went over anyways cause he seemed super interested. Well we went over and his place was kinda different/weird and there was a picture of this indian lady that was huge that looked like it had been taking from like the 1700s hahaha well so then i ask, "is that your girl friend?" and me and my comp just laugh. (cause it was super funny) :) well it actually ended up that the picture was of a guy. haha it was pretty funny.
well then we have a lesson and it went well, but he kept looking at my comp a little different??? hahaha its kinda weird i know. But he agreed to get with us again on thursday. So thursday we text him to remind him and he wrote back and said he isnt interetsted but wants to get together with my comp! hahaha so yeah we dropped him. hahaha it was really funny though (i thought)

ok but... we also went bowling last monday!!! it was so so fun i bowled a 175!
and... we are teaching a new guy, he is super cool, he has a band, and gave me one of his CD.s. But he really like the gospel and wants us to meet his friends and teach them too! cool cool!
and... a mom and daughter from english class are investigating.
and... this week i gave 3 blessings!!! that is more then i have my whole mission. One of the sisters was having a hard time, and another missionary, and a member! but these were all really amazing exsperiances!
also, my district is on fire we are dominating, they are super cool, and we are getting alot done! :)
and... we had some good lessons this week.
well this week was great, loving it, and thanks again for the package. (ps. thanks for the journal)

love starešina schneider

LETTER: Elder Colton Nunley • January 24th, 2011

hola familia!! oh man this week was so awesome! i love hearing from all of you. dad that is crazy you met elder bergenurs brother haha i knew he lived in ND for a while i didnt know he still did though. small world. ok so yeah the baptism was awesome and afterwards Julian asked me if i would do the confirmation and so i got to do that yesterday! and then give a 20 minute talk in espanol haha oh man the Lord has too much mercy on me right now. i seriously can understand so much spanish already it is so suave!!! but lets see so my address is:

Calle Morelos (antes Ojinaga)
#2210 A Colonia Cuahutemoc
Chihuahua, Chihuahua
Mexico

so that will be my address the whole mission. everything goes straight to the mission home and then i get to pick up my mail like once a month or something like that haha.

but yeah delicias is definately not like you saw on the computer haha well at least not the part im at haha but yeah there are definately houses that are just shacks and a lot of peoples bathrooms are a cement room with out shower heads they all bathe in teh same water. but just like everywhere there are people that are more poor than others but yeah it is so awesome here. thats so cool john bahr is going to chile!!! i can only email family so tell him thats suave for me haha but yeah chile spanish is really whiny so ill be able to make fun of his spanish and he will probably make fun of mine because mexican spanish is the best haha lets see.

so we have another baptism this week on friday and i might be doing the baptizing woot woot! it is so much fun to see how much the Lord blesses us when we serve others. everytime after we teach a lesson i just feel so good. its the best... i love it! haha but the food here is so good. they all think its funny how much chile (hot sauce) me and elder burgener put on our food cuz we are gringos haha but oh my gosh everything is so tasty!!

amoray good job on the grades!!! thats awesome make sure you keep that up all the way through all your schooling! umm i cnat really write much cuz i have 30 minutes of email and that includes reading your emails. but im trying. oh yeah one more thing that i thought would be really cool to do is have the family buy a year subscription of the liahona for every family we baptize. the Liahona is so awesome especially the conference one. Presidente Angulo has us study it every day. and i dont know if you remember in my farewell talk but it says that living prophets are more important that dead ones. so we gotta study what they tell us.....through the conference talks haha but yeah a year costs 60 pesos which is less than 6 bucks. so let me know how you feel about that but this week you're gonna be helping me out with two families haha.

i love reading your letters even though i dont answer everything haha. oh demory that is way cool what youre doing good thinking. that will be way fun to graduate early and head on down to utah.

so yesterday we had a typical missionary story but i gotta share it just cuz it is so awesome...suave haha ok so we went to this one families house 45 minutes away and the just didnt want to hear from us even though they set up an appointment haha but yeah so we went to another families house a member and they werent there and then we realized we were gonna be late for lunch so we decided to trailblaze a shortcut! haha on this shortcut we met Bernando Silva. Ok so Presidente Angulo always tells us we are NOT here to plant seeds anymore. we are here to find the people that are already prepared. Bernando Silva is definately prepared. oh my gosh he is so cool and we met his kids and everything. he seriously is a golden investigator already haha and yes i have my hopes up. but that is also called faith haha. so yeah we would have never gone that way before and since we did we found him. im so excited to teach him!!
i love you all bien suave!! haha

LETTER: Elder Jared Jensen • January 24th, 2011

Dear Great mom of all moms. =)

I got good news and bad news this time. Really I guess it can go either way but I guess we'lll have to see. Anyways. . . Sadly I am getting moved out of here tomorrow to Palluse, Paradise Park. And I will be step training Elder Hogesty( I think his name is). So I am a little scared to train but hey I'm all up for it. I will have to tell you how things go. One of the Elders in my district told me its a way sweet area and the people there are great. He said I will be talking to alot of college kids there and I will be doing a ton of street contacting. I'm pretty excited. =) but sad to leave all the wonderful people here. They really are so so great and I really do love them. (And I'm not just saying it) I will be visiting this place again after my mission.

Well to tell you of some of the great things that have happen to me here. Yesterday we had such a great visit with the Clemitsons and we watched the Restoration video with them. The spirit really was there so strong that time when I watched it. I knew for a fact they one of them had to be feeling it. And Amilia was. She told us after this movie she had calm feeling inside of comfort and she told us that she didn't wanted it to end and the she wanted to have more of what happen to Joseph and wanted to have us come back soon for dinner. So I told them we would bring more next time and that we will go more into detail. She said that when she was young that she always had a Catholic Priest come over every time she was feeling sick and would pray for her and help her. But she said that she never felt good about him for some reason. Then she looked at us and said " But I feel different about you guys. I feel... Good every time you come over" So I know for a fact that she feels the spirit. She will probably be getting baptized real soon. Sadly I wont be there.

Also do you remember that lady that I was teaching in Moses Lake that was a Jehovah witness? She was the one who was going through all the divorce problems and had her kids taken away from her. Well anyways I heard she got baptized recently. One of the members went over to her house and pretty much just called her out and said " I know that you know this church is true" And she just started crying and said " Yes, I know its true." Its just neat to see how God still works even when your not there. =)

We also had a very neat experience here yesterday. We decided yesterday that we should go pass the high way and tract down there in the hood. (since we never went down there.) So we go down there and none of the houses were letting us in and I really was just having a bad attitude about everything. Finally as we were walking I decided to have faith in God that he would guide us in the right direction and that I needed to have faith. The next house we knocked on some Indian answered the door. Believe or not he let us in. So we sat down and started to talk with him and he told us that it was funny that we showed up at the door because him and his wife were just talking about what church they thought they should go too when we knocked on the door. So now him and his wife and he will be bringing all of his friends to our church next Sunday. He was very prepared by the lord. It was amazing. =) I wish I could be here next Sunday but I guess I meant to be somewhere else.

Things here have really been so great. There have also been other great things that have happen but I just don't have enough time to write them all down. I love you so much mom and hope things keep going well. =)

Love-
Elder Jensen

LETTER: Sister Adrienne Schneider • January 24th, 2011

hola madre,
so i am seriously doing well. i don't understand anything really...haha but it is all good. my comp is from chicago illinois and a convert to the church. she is about 26 and this is her last transfer. she knows a lot and is pretty patient. i hate feeling like a lost little puppy though, pero, it is all good.
so here are some different things about argentina....}
...we kiss everyone to say hello ...except we can't kiss elders or males...stiff arm them with a locked elbow
...the food is good...they dont eat dinner until 9 oclock so we dont really eat anything
...there are villas....said like vishas...that are where people live and it is like run down and made of garbage.
...i don't say too much...ha ha but i got to bear my testimony in castillano...haha i was laughing at myself the whole time...
...people are pretty nice and everyone has pretty much dark hair, and i am pretty tall compared to everyone, but they accept EVERYONE it is pretty neat. they are pretty blund about how things are...like they make colored comments and no one is affected or hurt...it is just the way it is}
...i love the fruit here...so good!
...it is hard to keep people in the church and i guess the bishop here has been bishop
...oh it is like backpacking here everyday...but we get a shower with a lot of hair in it...
...mom you would be proud, i did my laundry in a bucket and hung dry it...haha
....i can't really think of things i was going to write. all is well. my area is hurlingham...we take the train and buses everywhere
...oh...dogs everywhere!!!! and we clap instead of knocking doors to get into their houses. people have fences everywhere and you have to clap through the fence to be allowed to pass in.
...oh and they ride motorcyles EVERYWHERE!!!!! so many....i wish we could ride one....so tempting!
...i am so grateful for the members that feed us too!
...lessons have been good, i can't believe i am in argentina...so crazy!!!
...one more reason it is like backpacking is because i have a backpack and it is so sweaty and i am always sweating and my hair is gross with the humidity
...luckily you can feel the spirit in any conditions ...
my mind is like everywhere, not sure if i wrote that...haha. sorry i didn't answer anyones emails. everything is good, i am still smiling, i havent been schooled by any little kids in soccer yet.

LETTER: Elder Brayden Schneider • January 24th, 2011

you guys are the best! jessie singing taylor swift!!!! good work sister! and logan dancing to Michael Jackson!!! oh man you cant get to much cooler then that.

hey tell aunt rach that she is the best and thanks for the email!

so this week went by so fast! Deja had her baptism it was so bomb! I felt super cool cause the branch mission leader gave a talk and he talked about how so many people had a part in Deja.s baptism! and he mentioned me and said thanks for contacting her!!!! woot woot! i felt pretty cool.

oh so my mission president came down! hahaha it was super funny, i asked him when he was planning on sending me to BOSNIA!!! hahaha but i have a feeling he wont! hahaha he likes me alot though! :) we invited him to stay over at our place over night, which he just laughed about that!

So we worked with a member to get the fliers done for the stop smokin program that we are going to be teaching! They look super good, and we are going to organized "splits" with 2 of the members one night so that we can hand out all our fliers! cool huh? i have never gone on splits yet but i think it would be a super fun thing to do! and it would help out some members!

So not much happened this week we found 3 new investigators this week! and that is about 3 times the amount we usualy get, so thats good. :)

So.... i dont know to much of what to say, my district is so tight! we call ourselves the maribor team!! haha we dominate maribor everyday!

well thanks for the support family i am doing very very well!!!!!

love you!

Oh i almost forgot we live by a river and about 100 swans just chill there all the time so me and my comp bought a HUGE bag of cornflakes and threw the corn flakes the birds. and one swan bit my hand. i tried feeding it, but those birds just try eating everything they can! haha it was super funny.

LETTER: Elder Jared Jensen • January 18th, 2011

Dear wonderful great mother of mine. =)

Sorry I wasn't able to write you on Monday. We had our P-day on Tuesday since yesterday was a holiday. We celebrate holidays here by knocking on doors. ;) Anyways can you send me some of our ancestor stuff in your next email? Ever since I have been out I kind of want to know about how we got here. You don't have to go way into detail but I would like something. =) This week has been really good and we are keeping busy. Nothing way amazing has happen to us just knocking on doors and having our normal lessons. Slipping on ice and all that good stuff. All the snow has melted which is really great because I decided as a missionary snow is your arch enemy and it just gets in the way of everything. All the families here are just wonderful too. I'm sure I wrote that in my other letter but I'm telling you they are all so great! Brother Estock is our ward missionary and this guy is just awesome. He's someone that I will come back and visit after my mission. Our transfers are coming up this next week so I might be going some where new soon. Also lost my first name tag. It was sad to because I was joking about me losing half an hour before I really lost it. No joke. I said to my companion " Elder Robb I bet you I'm going to lose this name tag today. Watch now its really going to happen. Ha ha ya that would be so funny..." Then it really happen and we spent half an hour trying to find it. Mom we have so many families that we our teaching right now. I cant really write what were teaching them but it has been wonderful. So many our coming back to church and so many are listening to us. The lord has been helping us so very much. Mark and Vickie are doing great and are thinking of baptism and so is the Blest family who has come to church 3 times now. Also Susan's husband is starting to come to church now and Jared Teel is being alot more open with us and we are able to see him alot more. Sister Walker is starting to come to church every Sunday and has started doing family home evening every Monday. Michel Bowswer is also trying to quit smoking still and she's doing better and better every week. There are just so many families. I'm hoping I don't get transferred though. I would like to keep talking with these families. =) Also we have this 12 year old Vashon Jackson who comes out with us alot. This kid is so cool. He is going to be the greatest missionary ever if he stays well in the church. He's very mature for his age to and he will just randomly call and ask if he can come out knocking doors with us. His family doesn't go to church at all though so he just goes with brother Duer who is his grandfather. Bro. Duer is also a wonderful member here too. This guy just loves to say Buh buh alot every time he sees us. Whats up Buh buh! One of the bus drivers here knows us very well also. His name is dean and he's a gangster. He knows some of our beliefs also so when some Young guys got on the bus and started to swearing a little bit and dean asked them " Hey you like ridding the bus? Better keep your mouth shut." As we leave he calls us his biblical brothers. " Alright my biblical brother take care" Ha ha there are just so many great people here. =) Ill tell you about all the not so nice people when I get home though. But don't worry about me. Things are just going fantastic. I love you beautiful best mom. =)
-Elder Jensen.

LETTER: Sister Adrienne Schneider • January 18th, 2011

oh, the mission president had me write you a letter, but then they said we can email...not sure why exactly...but you should be getting a letter sometime. the mission president asked me to only write family which includes brothers sisters parents and grandparents. so will you let everyone else know that....i want to be obedient cuz then i will have more power. also, i get dear elder and anyone can do that....so if you can forward me elder nunley´s emails that would rock too...along with elder schneider´s for sure...and can you let shaniqua know too...i want to write her but he asked me to be completely obedient and that includes emails.
toodles,
hna schneider
---------------

you were right bout the mission president! we get to email today...my pdays will be on mondays ...just so you know! this will be quick! i made it to argentina, i don´t have a native compnion, but this is her last transfer and her name is hermana hunes. she is a convert and pretty cool so far, very patient it seems and i hoep she will work! i can´t believe the smell here! soccer is lready very prevalent. we are in the city...herlingham...hha hope i spelled it right!!! all is well...not much sleep...the elders rock....they picked up all the bags. we are about thirty minutes downtown of the capitol. we got to see the temple that is being renovated and the mtc was soooo small...i know why they don´t send people here, i think it is just for locals because it is so small! they speak really fast spanish but i know the lord will help me understand what i need to, when i neeed to, as long as i keep working. i told my companion to keep speaking spanish to me even if i don´t understand and to have me make her ask her questions. pretty crazy here! so excited. some shampoo spilled over all over one of my bags, ti was dripping. i already have a love for these people...i can´t wait to teach...even if i say all the wrong words and don´t conjugate anythigng right. the mission president seems way cool too...pretty chill and awesome...he is a convert too but has a very strong testimony. all the sister missionaries say he loves sisters....and we have the best mission in the world...you can tell elder nunley and schneider that too.
mucho amor,
hermana schneider
p.s. andrew your email was so funny! thanks! jessie i am glad you had fun at your tumbling place

LETTER: Elder Colton Nunley • January 17th, 2011

familia!!! oh my gosh mexico is so awesome. so this week my first full
day here.... we asked juan capachino to be baptized and he said
yes!!!! haha and so yeah i have my first baptism coming up this
saturday haha but that one doesnt really count cuz i only got to teach
him once but it was way good i got him to ask a lot of questions cuz i
told him that one of the coolest things about this gospel is that the
answer is always always always there! he liked that a lot and asked
questions and then at the end of the lesson Elder Bergener asked him
if he would start preparing to be baptized and he said yes haha but
after that he didnt really seem all that excited about it and so i
asked him why he wants to get baptized 1because thats what we want to
hear from him or 2 that because he knows its right..... i couldnt have
asked for a better answer dead serious he said that ever since he has
been meeting with the missionaries, which is only 3 times!!! with me
4.............. but yeah ever since then all of his doubts have been
slowly just going away and he knows that Jesus Christ knows what he is
doing in his life all the time!!! oh my gosh he is so great his wife
is already a member but inactive and now hes activating her haha but

yeah so i gotta tell you about this other man who already has a
baptismal date which is this saturday and so we are just preparing him
for that and saturday we taught him the word of wisdom. ok let me
describe this man his name is Julian Moran and he is in the army and
his wife lives in guadalajara right now and she is also a member. so
he figured while he was here all by himself that he would find out
more about the mormons and so he called elder bergener and he started
teaching him with his last comp. he is so acceptable to everything
because he has so much faith. for real his only problem with the word
of wisdom is that he drinks wine every once in a while and jokingly
after we said he cant he said ok... so friday i'll go out and drink as
much as i can and then saturday i'll repent and sunday go to church
haha but no he told us for real he's done with it. he is such a funny
man.

OH MY GOSH you know the corn on the stick in nacho libre hahahaha
they are everywhere here haha i still havent ate one yet but i had a
thing called a torta today and it was so delish. the food here is way
good. oh everyday at 2 a family in the ward feeds us.

presidente angulo is an absolute genious no doubt he is so smart and follows
the spirit every second of his life. he has a ton of rules for us but i am
happy to follow them because when he taught us why we have these rules
i could feel the spirit and know they are for my benefit. the only one
that is super hard to follow is that i cant drink cocacola haha but
its all good but for real he is such a genious and so spiritual like
he really looks for the meaning behind everything our leaders in the
church do. like he has us study 5 talks from the past conference and
write him every week our thoughts about them and he actually gave us
his thoughts on one of them when we were at the mission home and it
was so awesome. .

umm the place i{m serving right now is called delicias and it is so suave...
everyone says that word here i love it haha. but yeah it is not dangerous
here at all and everyone is super friendly. umm elder burgener has only
one month left and so obviously presidente angulo wants me to learn something
from him before he leaves. but dad for prepping for a mission i think the only
thing you can tell them to do is study the scriptures and search for their
meanings and how to apply them to peoples lives. but really you wont
realize what you ACTUALLY need to do until you get out here. like
people told me so manythings and i did them but since i didn't
understand the importance there really wasnt that much of an effect
but i really think its somehting you only can prepare for in the mtc.

i gotta go but church was awesome they had me bear my testimony out of
nowhere haha and next week i have to give a 20 minute talk haha so im
excited to see how that goes. i love you all so much and this work the
same thanks for all your prayers.

LETTER: Elder Brayden Schneider • January 17th, 2011

Hahahaha this week was so much fun! oh man we had some funny stuff happen to us.

So me and my comp are dominated maribor! i love it, its so fun, we are starting a stop smoking class and one member is going to teach it. And we have alot of really cool things that we are going to do for the class.
Also this week we had a lesson with a new investigator, he is super cool. He said he has been looking for christ church and that we is like joseph smith and wants to find truth! he is a stud! Tonight he is going to pray about the book of mormon and he is very honest and a good man. he will for sure get his answer.

Also... guess who got to give a baptismal interview!!!!! it was super cool, i loved it, i had a baptismal interview with deja. (the girl i contacted like 5 months ago, and asked her member friends about it) It was super cool.
ok so, this week we went outside of maribor to try and dominate some other cities! it was super fun, we went to two villages and contacted the whole entire city!

But i have a funny story about that. So on sunday after church we headed out to one of the cities. We had to take a bus out there and so we just deciced we would ride the bus until the bus driver stopped! so we did, it was super fun, then he stopped and said that was the last stop. Then when we were getting off he said "enjoy." We didnt think anything of it until we got off and checked when the bus was going to head back so that we could destroy the city and then get a ride home. Well it turns out there werent going to be any more buses going back, that was the last one. So we just decieded to contact and tract the whole city anyways. So we did, we contacted and passed out stuff to every single person for about 4-5 hours. Then we were like crap its going to take like 3-4 hours to walk back.... and it was 6 pm, so..... we hitch-hiked! hahahaha it was so fun. It took a while for someone to pick us up, cause everyone thinks we are crazy. haha but a lady and her husband picked us up. It was super cool, she was super nice.... and of course while we are in the car we brought up god, and truth!!! And the book of mormon! hahaha but she didnt want anything to do with it.
But think how cool a story that could have been if she became an investigator! haha next time!!!!
but things are looking up for the little old maribor branch!!! woot woot.

thanks for everything family!

ps... english class is looking good! we have some super good people! i will tell you about that next week!

Subject: Si yo tuviera un millón de dólares, yo le compraría un mono

ok so it sounds like i should start off appologyzing to everybody out there jaja lo siento por todos haha but so i have even better news today than last week and i´ll be straight up with you so i dont lose any fans this week like i´m sure i did last time haha so today in 1 hour i am going to go to the travel office here at the MTC from there we will drive up to Salt Lake City and once we are there i will sign my visa we will come back to the MTC and leave either Thursday of Friday depending on when Presidente Angulo wants us there!!!! Isn´t that awesome!!! i can´t find the question mark on this keyboard cuz its in spanish so just go ahead and forgive me for that throughout haha so the next time i partake of the sacrament (la santa cena) i will be in México!! i wish you could see how big the smile is on my face right meow for real!! haha i´m so excited!! but i want to tell you a super spiritual story that happened this week:
ok so we´ve been teaching one of our teachers and he has been acting as someone else and his name has been Jorge. so we´ve been teaching Jorge for a good 2 weeks every day. now Hermano Escobar is so good at becoming Jorge he is completely a different person and it truely feels like we are teaching Jorge not Hermano Escobar. so Jorge is a catholic and he prays everyday and he has such a great amount of faith in Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father and we´ve been teaching him for so long and i truely came to love him like i prayed for Jorge all the time and i would pray that Jorge would follow through on the invitations we gave him and everything. but it´s been really hard for Jorge to accept José Smith. anything about him. which has been so frustrating because i know how much happier Jorge will become once the fullness of the Gospel would take effect in his life. and he has so much faith that he would be such a great member. but Jorge tells us everytime that he feels so good when we are at his house and even though we tell him it´s the spirit he doesn´t think it is. Jorge is completely content with everything in his religion and wont accept anything else. even when we pray he says Sí Señor at everything he agrees with haha(which is actually hilarious and it´s hard for me not to laugh still) but we´ve talked to him so many times and the last couple times we just haven´t been going anywhere with him and we had to put him back in the Lords hands until he is ready to be taught again.....we dropped him and we wont be teaching him for a while anymore. this was honestly so hard for us! like we love Jorge so much and we´re just trying to help him out by finding out how he can receive salvation and he isn´t ready to hear it. when we came back into the classroom and i saw hermano Escobar aka Jorge... i was like so dissappointed in him haha it was so crazy like i will never forget this and it was so cool to see how much these people will mean to me because i was studying so many things throughout the day For Jorge so that we could teach more simple and clear. so that was super sad but spiritual this week i´m so glad he was tough on us and didn´t commit to baptism like everyone else here haha it was really good for us.

oh so yeah kim sent me these six oober rich cupcakes and just eating one made me feel absolutely terrible haha so after i gave two to my companions and a friend we gave the cupcakes to our investigators the next couple days in our lessons haha!!! it was so funny to see the looks on their faces when i whipped that out oh my gosh but yeah it was delicious but i´drather share those puppies than eat them all for my self haha tell her thanks for me.

so i have the picture of the family you gave me over my desk in the room and i looked up at it one day and i saw amoray and i just started thinking about how goofy she is haha and i just busted up giggling haha thanks amoray for all those silly things you do! like throwing a snorkel at my HEAD haha ya little punk! haha and mom i just wanna give you a big hug every month and then come back to the mission field :) but yeah i´m doing great out here i am truely so blessed if you read 2 nefi chapter 9 thats how i feel like all the time. like nefi is writing this chapter right and you know when you are just so excited about something you can´t stop saying how much you love it and you just kinda get lost in the moment and have this huge grin on your face... that´s how i imagine nefi writing this chapter.. there´s like 90 times when he just puts Oh the greatness and the Glory of our Lord!! haha that´s truely how i feel. this gospel is so amazing and can bring so much joy into our lives!! it talks about it all the time in the BoM but yeah i owe so much to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ i am trying to give more and more of my time to them every day and the more i sacrifice the more blessed i feel. it´s funny how that works out :) so there is a good chance the next email i write will be from méxico but if i dont leave til later in the day thursday i will be able to write you again i love all of you!!
Elder Nunley
oh yeah the title is ....If i had a million dollars i would buy you a monkey haha it is actually tricky figuring out how to conjugate that so it was practice for my spanish not just a random sentence :) seriously

LETTER: Elder Brayden Schneider • January 10th, 2011

Hey grandpa and grandma thanks for the care package!!! it was quite delightful! so... this week was something else, i am having alot more fun in my mission. So we passed out flyers for english class, and this week was so so cold, i am suprised i didnt die, handing out all those flyiers! ok so good news on friday we had sign ups for english class and we have some of the best people that came and signed up. we got about 35 people to sign up, so we are really hoping we will be able to find people that what to hear about christ thru english!
ok so... i would have to say, if every mission had as much faith and good personality as sister adri schneider, i am pretty sure everyone would already be baptisted! :)
ok so, i went down to Ljubljana for a meeting this week and this mission is changing for the better! this meeting was for the leaders in each city, oh man it was so good, these are some of the best missionaries in the world!!! i am not joking, but our leaders and the attitude and the work ethic is going to be increase so fast! So my district is way good, we are kinda younger but age really doesnt make one difference! my district has so much faith, and they are so conviced about us getting 8 baptisms that nobody could ever tell anyone in my district that we wouldnt get 8 cause its too hard, they are way good.

So the meeting we had was over night, and the leaders from serbia and croatia all came up and stayed 2 nights. So the fun thing was is we went contacting with them.... hahaha i got to go with a croatin, and it was fun trying to understand them, and the best part is they cant understand slovenian at all, but we can understand them a lot better for some reason.

So i am getting pretty excited about the work here, we got a new mission leader and that is a huge step, now we are going to be working together with the branch.

so..... i have something funny to tell you... this week, you guys will think me and my comp are crazy, hahaha but you know it the oldin times, when Brigham Young and those people went on missions, they would just stand on a box, and just testify and talk about the BoM and like a whole group of people would listen........ well you guys are going to laugh, but me and my comp are going that tommorow, you think we are joking but, we figure it cant be any worse then contacting!!! hahahahaha plus how cool of a story is that when we find people that really want to listen!!

me and my comp are doing good, he has a unique personality which is really fun.... really unique! but we get along and work hard.

But now i am going to go on a hike, cause today isnot snowing! so got to go, love you though!!!

hola,
so, many funnny stories, i will try to get them out!
got my travel plans...leave jan. 17!!!! so excited!!!!!
i met someone that matt might know... a japanese lady named 'kyoko johnson' who is really nice and may know matt!!!
thank you for the package, pictures, socks, wow! i miss them! oh and my roommates thank you for the razor ;) dad thanks for your conversion story! i love it!!!! so amazing! thank you for coming to this gospel!!!!
with new elders coming in, the 'deaf' elders (elders signing, who aren't really deaf) have been pretending they are compltely deaf....it is so funny. i guess they were doing a magic trick to the new elders and instead of the elder who had chosen the card 'showing' the people his card', he only said it. so the elder 'heard' what the card was cuz he wasn't really deaf....haha so funny! they are gerat! i love my district too! the elders crack me up! in volleyball we have a peanut gallery that commentates!
i finally got a letter fromn elder schneider...so funny! the white envelope wasn't white at all! it was brown adn black...i think it was lost cuz it has been over a month that it was sent!!!!
we are considered the 'orphans' of the MTC, we have now had over 20 teachers because of the break and our teachrs are engaged...kinda a paing but i am sure it is a blesing as well...we get to hear a lot of different 'spanishes'
funny story: my old bishop (bishop barlow) came into the cafeteria and i went and said 'hi' to him....HE GAVE ME A HUG!!!! IN FRONT OF EVERYONE' and i was just shocked and turned bright red...he didn't even seem to notice. but the mexican elders and some hermanas from our district saw and were laughing and laughing so hard. i didn't know what to do!!!!! so funny though! it was the event that broke the ice with the mexican elders! they are the best and they learn so much englishso fast! i hope i learn spanish as fast as they are learning english! what a blessing in disguise! they always ask me if i have received any more hugs! way funny!
the language is coming, i lvoe teaching and i love the spirit! i love this gospel! it is so great... i am so excited to go teach the people of ARgentina!!!! 1 week baby!!!! can't wait!!!! the church is true and helps us to be happy! i am so happy! i love learning about the savior and the atonement....it is infinite and eternal and we need to be worthy! he will come again!!!!!
love you!!!

Subject: ARIZONA WOOT WOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh my heck haha so we went to the travel office yesterday and i told the lady that we are going to mexico but we should have our temp assignments in and she looked at me with an excited face and said ok hold on. so she went into the back and then came back and was like what mission in mexico are you going to and i told her chihuahua and so she said ok wait just a minute and came back again... ok so the suspense was killing me like for real i was so scared i was gonna go to utah haha. but then she said.. Elder Nunley? and i said Si. then she said i'm sorry but your temp assingment was canceled!!!!!!! Can you believe it?!?! but then like after an eternity of silence she said the mexican concelate called us and told us to cancle your temp assingment and they are going to be processing your visa this week! haha oh my heck i was so stoked i just started jumpin around and giving hugs to all the elders in the room haha so i will be in chihuahua in less than two weeks! she said that they'll call me down to the office when they get called and then i will travel up to salt lake and sign some papers and the boom the next day i'm off to mexico!!! haha oh my gosh you have no idea how awesome it was to hear that! cuz now we only have teachers every once in a while cuz we aren't supposed to be here and so i have a ton of personal study time which is SO effective i love it. but yeah i'm so pumped. but it must have just been for chihuahua that the visas are going through this week cuz like 25 other elders got temporary assignments to like ogden and salt lake south so i am so blessed!! oh my heck family you have no idea!! oh yeah so you've probably figured out by now that the arizona title is to throw you off :) but yeah i will get to call home again once i get my travel itinerary (or however you spell that) oh i forgot to anounce in my last email that i have finally hit one hundred poops in the MTC right now i'm sitting at a strong 110 and 111 is well on the way! oh my heck you have no idea how good this news is i will be in Chihuahua Mexico in less than two weeks! so Stoked!! i'd so much rather wait in the MTC for another 2 weeks than get a new call for like 2 months or something. :) so how is everything at home? i love getting your weekly letter its so nice getting mail thank you. lets see i always wanna tell you about the fun stuff that happens here but everything seems like one huge day and i never remember anything specificly. i'll try to start writing in my planner some of the things you may want to hear about :) oh yeah the reading the book of mormon and highlighting all the scriptures that mention Christ. i've found that when i do that i'm focusing a lot more on what each individual scripture is talking about cuz sometimes it refers to Jesus as him or he or sometimes other things that you have to think about. especially in the isiah chapters in nephi. oh yeah crazy story so when we went to go get my wart taken off i was highlighting the scriptures that talk about Christ in my pocket size book of mormon ( which is so awesome by the way!!) so yeah we got out of the shuttle and i put the BoM in my chest pocket and we had to walk down this like little alley thing which was way weird and creepy cuz we are in provo not downtown new york haha but this short latino man comes out from around the corner and says he is going to shoot me if we dont give him our money. so i threw my wallet to him and elder cluff just took off running. so i saw him pull out his gun and shoot at elder cluff. so me being the completely selfless person i am ;) jumped in the way of the bullet to take one for elder cluff and i could tell i got hit cuz my chest hurt but i wasnt bleeding or anything so i stood up and the latino was gone and elder cluff came back and i took out my book of mormon and it had taken the hit for me!! and guess where it stopped... right at the Isiah Chapters!!!!!!!!! haha ok so yeah i didn't get shot or anything that was all a joke sorry mom :) but i guess elder oaks tells that joke a lot of the time which is pretty funny cuz he always seems so dang serious all the time :)
que le vaya bien,
Elder Nunley
ps my all time favorite word in spanish is ojalá (ok so you put emphasis on the last ¨a¨) but it means like i hope, you hope, we hope, all that. and you use it like if someone asked me Hey elder nunley does your visa come this week i would say Ojalá que sí! which means like i hope that yes!! but yeah it just feels good rolling off the tounge so try it out lemme know what you think :)

Subject: Buenos Cuerpos

i might find out tomorrow!!!! woot woot!! oh man we finally got to go to the temple again today it felt so good! they were closed for christmas and every thing so it's been 2 weeks maybe even three since last time we went but it feels like forever!! it felt so so good to go back i love it! dayton i hope everything went well in court for you. i hope that you remembered to let the judge know that you were the boss in the court room and if he/she wanted to say anything he/she would have to ask permission from you first haha that's sweet you saw munson!! there is actually an elder here who reminds me so much of munson he even looks a lot like him i will have to get a picture with him and send it home to you all. lets see so something crazy happened this week! an elder in our zone just straight up left the mtc! haha he told his companion he had to go to the bathroom and he told his companion just to wait in the room (this was in our residence halls so you can be away from you companion if you're both on the same side of the building) but yeah so elder neilson was waiting in his room for like 20 minutes and finally decided it had been long enough so he went in to check on him and he was gone we looked for him like all night but couldn't find him and then the police called and said they found him at his aunts house here in provo. pretty cooky if you ask me. but he's been like planning it for a while i guess. we know this because he is back here at the mtc haha and it is extremely awkward around him no lie. but he's going home though for good now. but man i am so excited to find out where i am going i feel like i am so much more prepared to get a calling this time than i was last time haha i'm so pumped!! oh so i went and got the wart removed and dad that lady you talked to was like the least patient person i've met in my life. like i'm grateful for her help but it was so funny to me and elder cluff the whole time we were there!! and when i could here you probably asking to talk to me or whatever you were doing we could tell she was using all of her strenght not to hang up on you haha it was pretty funny. but yeah everything here is going superbien i love it. can't wait to get out there!! its awesome because like i've gained a love for learning the gospel. OH that reminds me! i challenge as a family to get a book of mormon and read it together and highlight everysingle verse that talks about Christ or where it is Christ speaking.... so i started doing this and i noticed Jesus is referred to as Lord a lot so i asked my branch president how to know which is which and he said most of the time it will be Christ they are referring to. and then he showed me Mosiah 15. just like the first 8 verses are perfect for this. ok so we know that God and Christ are seperate but they have the same purpose. those first 8 verses talk about how when Christ was on earth EVERY SINGLE THING He did was the will of the Father so... He was basically acting as the Father. it says that His will was swallowed up in the will of the Father and how it was the Father that performed the atonement or something like that. but yeah i love learning new stuff like that its just so much fun. cuz now it just makes so much more sense how they are seperate but the same. and now that it is more simple for me to understand it will be easier to teach it.
LOVE YA'LL

LETTER: Elder Brayden Schneider • January 3rd, 2011

haha dad so for your question, yes, we had to come in early on new years eve, and the next day i dont think we saw 1 person cause they all decided to stay in as a result of their hangovers! haha
So being DL isnt too bad, cause we only have 5 people in our district!

ok so, yoga.... it wont work out, we talked to president and he said that some Slovenian people think that yoga is a faith, so we wouldnt want to teach a different faith in our church. haha which makes sense but it was still a good idea! so me and my comp have thought of some pretty crazy sweet ideas for how to interduce the gospel to people, not only thru contacting. We made a list of about 20 different ideas that i would be willing to bet no missionaries have tried! hahaha but they are good! We already tried one, well we got book of mormons (and we are trying to flood maribor with them) and so we asked a hotel if we could put them in thier waiting room, they agreed, also we tried in hair cutting places, they also agreed. So we have a whole book that we wanted to place them in stores where people would read them. And most bosses are really nice to us!

So new years was crazy, the city was light up with fireworks! haha and president aloud us to stay up till 12, but i almost didnt make it, hahaha i felt like an old man! haha but then at 12, i was wide awake.

So me and my comp do some really cool things, every day we have a holiday or an event that we have to do. Like one day we fast, and one day we have a do something nice for the sisters, one day we have a culture lunch (visit somewhere cool during our lunch time) and one day we clean the appartment for lunch! haha fun huh? haha but it gives a little spice in the day so we dont fall into a habbit of doing the same thing.

but you wanna hear a cool goal we have, we are planning for 8 baptisms in Maribor, (you probable think its crazy) but we figure if we want some pretty crazy good numbers then we have to do some pretty crazy things. I will keep you updated on the ideas of how we are going to find and teach 8 people this transfer!!!!

well love you, and hope all is good!!!
starešina schneider

ps.... hahaha i was laughing so hard when i read adris letter, hahaha she said some elders are almost fluent in spanish! hahaha oh my, i have been here in slovenia for 1 year and i am not fluent! hahaha spanish is definaly for girls!!! hahahaha jk adri you could probably beat me up with your langauge skills! :) good work!!

pss... pray for colton nunley, i heard he might be serving in utah! :)
